lists, assignments, actions
Past emails, Twitters and rewriting a few lines for two old songs I unearthed for recording consideration, I seem to have writer's block. Perhaps more accurately, I realize I've done what most people do —write the same story or paint the same picture umpteenth number of ways— and gotten so familiar with my particular story obsession, I've started feeling somewhat bored by it. I realized this the other day, while posting about the weekend and thinking, I could write a chapter about each bullet item....but didn't. I took a long walk and looked at buildings and drew and played guitar without writing a song, mulling, cogitating, perhaps I achieved liberation of some sort (hah, I wish!). I didn't get to any conclusions or inspirations though it did remind me of lists, an old writing class tip, and gave myself an assignment to list things that caught my attention, be they visual or not. I'll post at the end of the week.
In the meantime I'm listening to Otis Redding and Nina Simone preparing to go off to the San Francisco Music Tech Summit tomorrow AND
