Despite growing up in Santa Cruz County, I'm a crappy surfer. But that doesn't mean I don't have a soft spot for surf culture: sand, sun, curling waves and bathings suits...err wetsuits (given that it's NorCal). So I'm suitably stoked to have a gig close to breaking waves at a place called The Surf Spot. The restaurant-cum-music venue boasts a "fun-and-funky beach vibe" along with indoor and outdoor dining, fire pits, rolling lawns, a volleyball court, live music — that means us this Sunday, July 28— and a menu drawing on "the bounty of Northern California, sourced as close to home as possible, to offer creative, innovative dishes alongside familiar, hearty fare." Lots of wines available by the glass, beer on tap, and creative cocktails. It's going to be fun.
